Some of the grandkids - just a cute picture!
Kate and I next to the casket - she was just giving me a big hug! I needed it!
Little Emily! Final Goodbye!
It started to rain just as we finished up and then all the sudden it was coming down in buckets and everyone was running for their life. 2 days ago Kate said: "Mom ya know how it was raining when we were at grandpa's funeral outside? It wasn't rain, it was Jesus crying!"
These were the framed pictures that my parents always had up on the wall - aren't they cool! All the pictures are of us when we were younger too.

5 of the 7 girls and my Mom taken on Fri - I think.

Chris, Sara, Dave, Me, Rebecca, Anita, Robin, Liz & Dan (not in order of age - Bev and Jay are missing from this one. We were at the Viewing Sunday night.

After the Viewing Sunday night we all slept at My parents house in Fayette and we had a lot of fun staying up talking. This is what we call a great double chin picture!

My sister -in law has a button machine and they made buttons. All the grandkids wore them with pride!!

Well, we have been doing pretty well lately... considering! I really think having the funeral and having all of my family near was great medicine for us all. Although we are all just completely worn out from all the commotion.
The one thing I can say is how grateful I am that we know where our loved ones go and that they are greeted by their loved ones who've gone before and also by Christ! It is so wonderful to know that my Dad is happy and free from his earthly trials! (And boy did he have a lot!) But he had a lot of great and happy things in his life also! I know that we will see him again and because of the atonement we can live together forever with our families! I am so grateful for the true gospel and the hope and peace it brings at these kind of times.
I can't believe how many people helped us, prayed for us, served us and even made financial contributions! It has been overwhelming! I have never been on this end of all of the prayers and service before and it has really made me feel the love that the Savior has for all of us! I know that prayers are answered and I just can't thank everyone enough for your thoughts and prayers! They have truly been felt!! I know everyone says that but there have been so many tender mercies that I have witnessed in the last few weeks that the best way to describe it, is to know that there have been so many people praying for us!
I am going to stop sometime in the next couple days and just write down all the events as they took place so that I have it all down in writing and maybe I'll post it.

Anyway, I thought I would put some newer pictures on of last week and since my last post was pretty depressing - not that this one is much better really... oh-well.
(I borrowed my Moms Camera so that I wouldn't go insane!! It's just not natural to be without one when family is all together)

Sally, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. I guess that is a great thing about funerals is all of the family. I am glad things went well and that you have so much love and support in your family.

Sally,
I have been meaning to call you ever since I read about your dad. We are going to be in Utah next week, but I'm afraid we will be all the way in Lake Powell. I would like to see you. I can't imagine what you are going through. Very sorry. I'm sure the gospel knowledge of Eternal Families gets you through something like this.
