Our Halloween Party

Today is Halloween and I will have yet another post all about it after this one probably but I have been wanting to post pictures of our Halloween party. We had a theme this year: Villains
We had some creative costumes! Ryan I found his in Mexico - He was Ramses from Nacho Libre! Ramses is the wrestler that Nacho fights against. We were all excited and only like 50% of the people their had even seen Nacho Libre - hello?! It's a classic!! :) So if you have not seen it, go rent it!
I dressed up like Miss Hanigan from Annie. I found my costume within 15 min at the DI earlier that day! I think it turned out good! (A pregnant Miss Hanigan is a little wierd seeing how she's always drunk!!)
Other costumes: Cat Women (2), Queen from Snow white, Cruella Devil(2), Terminator, Jason, the Ring girl (Won Scariest), Narissa from Enchanted, Witch king of Angmar from Lord of the Rings, Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Won most creative!), Bellatrix Lestrange from Harry Potter, Claire Bennet & Sylar from the Heroes TV show, Hillary Clinton, The Uni-bomber, Poison Ivy and Dr. Evil from Austin Powers (Won Funniest)- he even came with an MP3 player of the Dr. Evil Version of "It's a hard knock life" (which fit my theme as well!)

I think this year the costumes were awesome!
And the game we played was a spin on one we watched on our cruise! It was like a scavenger hunt - but you had to get creative!!! Ryan would shout out things like: First team to show me their team number and more than 20 keys, or first to show me a woman wearing 3 watches, or a hole in a sock. Then the final one was the team who could make a guy from their team look like the best girl! So hilarious!! (If you ever want to play it call me, it was probably the funnest game we've ever played!)
It turned out fun and it was a pot luck so all the food was yummy too!! Ryan had it decorated creepy with these huge 2 foot long hairy spiders and red lights everywhere. I think in some of the pics. you can see the spiders crawling the walls. We had to take them down because Kate was too scared! (Who's child is she??) :)
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the great pictures!!

What are you going to be on Halloween Night?

Here is Kate at her Pre School Halloween party this morning! She's been singing this song for a month now and I finally got to hear it all. They were all so darn cute!!!
Enjoy
(Go to the bottom and pause my music first so you can hear the song they sing)

Teletubbies, Trick or Trunk & Jack & Sally

We got to go trunk or treating at our ward's annual chili cook off and trunk or treat last Friday night. It was so much fun! No there are only 2 more days until Halloween!

Kate's Jasmine Costume was from the Disney store and all together would have been about $80 but they were 25% off and I had another 15% off coupon, plus Anita had given Kate a bounce back Disney store card worth $25. All in all I paid about $20. The Shoes are our favorite because the toes curl up!
Emily on the other hand won't keep a costume on so I really didn't want to spend any money on one. So my friend Amy down the street let her borrow this adorable Elephant costume! She looks so cute in it! She did pretty good to keep it on, only because as soon as we got to the church we let her take a break from it while we ate. But I am not sure if she'll wear it again (are your kids funny like that too or just mine - Kate was that way at 2yr old also) I have a back up black cat that she may be on Halloween night.

And yes... this is how Ryan and I showed up to our ward Trunk or Treat! Hey at least we didn't show up like this last year when we'd only lived here a week. :) We get the greatest looks and comments when we wear these! My mom made the hats 7 yrs ago and they have won a few costume contest in between. Usually for scariest!! -it's even better when you stuff them and bounce around saying "La La.... Po... ee-oooh" Anyone who worked with me at Datamark knows about that - and I think I did win the costume contest that year - I think it was for scariest but maybe it was funniest???

There will be more costumes to come for all of us so keep your eyes peeled! We Usually dress up like 2 or 3 diff. things each yr.

Another highlight this week was going to our friends cousin's spooky haunted house! She did a great job! It was really cool.

Last night I decided to paint our pumpkins with the kids - I THOUGHT it would be much easier than trying to carve then and take all the guts out all by myself! Really I think it was just as much of a hassle! But they turned out cute and Kate got to do her Spider all by herself so she was happy! I did Jack pumpkin and didn't know about doing Sally because I didn't want her to turn out looking really bad, but decided I'd give it a try - you just can't have Jack (or Ryan) without Sally!

Our Cruise to the Mexican Riviera!

Well, we are back! sorry it has taken me so long to update - I actually had something all written and somehow erased it! I was really frustrated!

Our Cruise was so wonderful though! In case you didn't know, Ryan's Parents paid for it and we couldn't be more grateful for their generosity! Thanks!
I can't tell you how relaxing and fun it was! We really needed it too! I think even my Mind was on vacation, I didn't think about anything back home -except our kids - who had a great time and did really good. Other than Kate had a visit from the stomach flu bug for 2 of the days. :( but over all I think they had fun - thanks for helping me out Anita, Mom, Heather, Amy, Trish and Randi!!!!! I appreciate it so much!!
Now for some of the highlights of our cruise - On the days we had the whole day on the boat we relaxed by the pool in the hot sun & also went to 2 movies ( Get Smart and Hancock).
On my Birthday - Monday 13th As you can see in the pictures we had virgin Pina Coladas and just relaxed and then that night was the first Formal dinner night - we got our picture taken and I love it because we don't have a good pic. of the 2 of us really.
Dinners and meals were all really good - you do get a little tired of eating by the end of the week, but it is true that any time of day or night you can get food!! That night we also did Karaoke - I convinced Joey to do "Dancing Queen" with me - we were hot!! :) That was pretty fun!
On Tuesday Morning I got to spend 2 full hrs in the Spa as my birthday present! I loved every minute of it! I got a Neck and shoulder message, a scalp message & Hair treatment, a facial and also a pedicure! So nice!! I had the best birthday!!
Then as soon as I got out of the spa we went on shore to Cabo! We went "snorkeling" as far as snorkeling goes I think it was pretty lame - but it was still a fun time because we were on such a beautiful beach and just being there in Cabo. The water was pretty choppy too, next time we'll schedule it all ahead of time. Then in Cabo we walked around, and went to a "Mall" We found 3 cute mexican dresses for Kate Emily and baby girl #3. They are such cute dresses! and also ate at Hard Rock.

Then on Wednesday, we were in Mazatlan. Ryan's Parents, Ann and Jesse (Ryan's Sis. & Husband) and Shawn and Mary (Ryan's oldest Bro. & wife) and the two of Us all found taxi's and went to the beach.Ryan's other Brother Scott and his wife Joey went to hang out with some other couples that are in their ward that also went on the cruise.
The taxi rides were scary, those drivers were so crazy! Our driver's car horn even sounded like a whistle. So he could just honk instead of try to whistle at any hot chica's!
On the beach there were so many vendors that you really couldn't relax unless you pretended to be asleep or went into to ocean to play. So we spent a good 2 hrs playing in the ocean and attempting to body surf! It was fun though!
As we got back to the port in Mazatlan Ryan and I went into one of the shops to look for some more sun screen and we saw some Snicker's bars - we just HAD to get them they looked so good! (funny, you can get pretty much any kind of food on the cruise ship but they have no candy or popcorn - ya know for the movies at least!) So we bought them for a dollar each. I split my wrapper open pretty quick after we left the shop and was instantly devastated and sickened by what I saw - tiny ant like bugs crawling around!!! YUCK! So Ryan went back and said: "I want my 2 dollars!!" (name that movie) Luckily we got our money back!

Thursday we were in Puerto Villarta. It was nice because most of the little shops were right there as we got off the boat. This day was the day Ryan and everyone else but Me, Ann and Carol Ann - (Ryan's Mom) went on the Zip line adventure! The 3 of us who couldn't go went shopping and had a good time - until we found out how amazing and fun the zip line was and then we realized our day was kind of boring compared to everyone else. Oh-well, I don't think any of us would have survived it - there was a lot of hiking and just the ride over to the jungle would have made me sick! The Zip lines were 400 feet above the jungle ground and they were harnessed in and would clip on to each zip line and go from tree to tree! I wish Ryan had taken our camera that day - but I'll have to get pictures from Joey and Jesse!!
After that day everyone was so wiped out that we all napped during dinner time and went to the buffet later on.
The other things we did on the boat were: watch a magician, comedian, go to an 80's dance at midnight, watched a fun game called "Quest" and also went to "singing with Cory" in the Piano bar. We had made fun of it all week and then decided to try it, it was actually really fun!! Everyone else was drunk so you didn't feel dumb being a little silly and shouting out the words to the songs. We also stopped in at the midnight buffet - just to get some choc covered strawberries - at least that is why I went!
What a great vacation! We recommend going on a cruise if you have never been on one before! Thanks Mom and Dad Whid!! It was a blast!!
I thought for sure I would have gained a ton of weight like everyone says. But at my Dr apt. after I got back I had only gained 3 lbs for the month. I am now 30 weeks along! Due Jan 3rd!
Hope you enjoy the pictures!! I added one of the dresses we bought the girls they wore them to church yesterday. ( Yesterday was also the Primary Program, so that is a great thing to now have behind me! It went so well, all the kids did great!! It was very touching too!!)

A Great Decorating Blog

One of my Good friend's sister in law just started a decorating blog. "She really is so talented! Be warned, stopping by her sight will either leave you frantic to run to the dollar store for an item, or full of guilt for a deal you missed or something you may have paid too much for! She has a "gift" for finding a great deal and turning one man's junk into a pure treasure. Not only that, but she has renovated a house that you won't believe the before and after pictures. She is pregnant with her 5th baby to boot!! Be sure and stop by--she is having a giveaway too! Check it out---" http://www.granvillehouse.blogspot.com/

Poor Emily!!!

Yesterday Emily had an appointment with an allergist because we've had some scary incidents after she's eaten a few things. We were pretty sure it was nuts! And we found out that she is definitely severely allergic to CASHEWS, PISTACHIOS and MACADAMIA nuts. We have Epi-pen Jr.'s now and have to get used to the fact the some day we'll most likely have to use them! (if you don't know what that is, it's an injection you have to give them as soon as you see the signs of her allergy before her throat closes up and she can't breath! HELLO!? )

It was such a shock and I struggled with it all the way home -30 min :( because I went in thinking she probably had something but it would turn out to be nothing, then by the end of the Appointment - 2 hrs! I was totally scared!
I know it's not as bad as other allergies or other childhood illnesses/ diseases and that we can be happy for our children's health compared to others. But when I started to think about all the times when I am not around my own kids - which lately is a lot because I've been working more. And then thinking about when the time comes that we'd actually have to use it - it just scared me.
We will most likely get her a bracelet with the info on it so when she is not with us she may need to wear it. Pre-school snack times and Elementary school lunch is going to be very interesting to say the least!

I took a picture of what Emily's back looked like on my cell phone so I could send it to Ryan, but we got it off his phone and so I thought I'd include it in this blog.
I've always wondered what they do for an allergy test. Well, first they write on their back (as you can see) and then they take tiny plastic sticks with each kind of food - in this case they tested all different kinds of nuts. Then they kind of pricked her back with them and after just 2-5 min. the Cashew and Pistachio were huge! She was pretty confused but she didn't even cry!
You'll notice that the Macadamia - at the very bottom didn't do anything, but we have to just keep her away from them because one of the times she had a major reaction was when we gave her a small bite of a Macadamia cookie from Sams or costco or something. So if we want to do a blood test later we can double check the macadamia, but for now we are just including it as one she is definatly allergic to!
One of the times she had a reaction was at a wedding with mixed nuts on the table. So now we can't even take out an almond or a peanut for her to have - if it's touched any of the other nuts she'll have a reaction.

The last time she had one she was with my sister Anita and Emily took the TINIEST bite of a cashew granola bar. Immediatly her lip started to swell and get a blister on it. And she told Anita her tounge hurt (ichy / swollen throught) and her eyes got all red, puffy and watery. Then she threw up! ( the swollen lip and throught only happened the last two times, but before that she'd just seem have the other symptoms - always throwing up! So we gave her benadryl, but now we have to use the Epi-pen Jr's. (Peanuts are fine for her to eat - Yeah! Peanut MnM's are one of our favorites!)

So.... that's the craziness! What do you think? Are your kids allergic to anything?
Another stress is that we leave on Sunday for our cruise without the kids so it just makes ya worry even more! I guess it's good we found out now so that everyone will be made very aware!
I'll turn 30 on Monday so I'll have a great present! A Mexican Cruise! Please pray that the weather is good!!

Going to MEXICO!

Ok, so we're going to be heading out to Mexico! I am so excited! We are going on a cruise to the Mexican Riviera! Ryan's Parents have paid for it and we can't be more excited! Life seems a little crazy at the moment trying to get ready for it and make sure that our businesses will survive for a week without us. Mine's all set - Ryan's is going nuts right now! If there has ever been a crunch time - it's now! I really hope he'll be able to enjoy the vacation!!
Anyway, my prego bod is going to be super hot in a swim suit and walking the mall today was tough, so walking around that boat and in Mexico will be interesting!
It will be so great to have a nice vacation so we'll post pics and tell you all about it when we return.

Can You Say Dress Up Time

If you know us at all, you know how much we love Halloween! I got my decor out the day I had Kate's party in Sept. and last Sunday we got all our costumes and things out so we could see what we already have before we decide what we'll be. So here are some of the dress up pics! I love the one with Kate in the red "Ariel" wig, she's singing her heart out! Aaaahhh...Aaaahhh! (The part where Ariel gives her voice to the sea witch)
