So I've been up to just about everything. In mid-July - after life started to get back to normal a little after everything with my Dad and things I went to Tulsa OK for National Conference with Usborne it was great and I am glad I went!! But the flight there was terrible! I puked 3 times and the 2nd time I had just gotten my sprite and then puked so my sprite went all over my lap! I was sitting next to strangers too. So when I arrived at the airport I just wanted to cry and go home! But it really was such a great thing that I got to go!! The flight home was fabulous because of vitamin B6 - and Unisom = Sea Ban wrist bands!! But now, I am all excited and trying to become a supervisor by October 1st! (basically doing about the same amount of work, but getting paid double! I don't know why I didn't try for this a long time ago!)
Anyway, When I came back Sunday, I had an open house planned for Tuesday and then we went to our family reunion to Yellowstone on Wednesday. When I got back from that - 2 days later my nephew got married and I did the cake. But... in the mean time, the Sunday I returned from my trip - the 20th. I found out that my almost 2 yr old nephew Louie in Arizona drowned in the back yard pool! His biological father ( my sis. was not married to him) and Louie were taking a nap on Sunday and I guess Louie woke up and went outside while his Dad was still sleeping and somehow he got into the pool area and drowned. I guess the news said that the door was propped open with a chair but it was not. His father threw the door open looking for him and the chair fell over propping it open after the fact. And His father also had a baby monitor on that didn't help. So that was very devastating!! And hard to even think about let alone talk about!
So my Mom and 2 siblings were the only ones who were able to make it out to the funeral because our whole family was at Yellowstone when they had it. That was pretty hard, I still can't believe we didn't all go out there, but it was just one of those situations that turned out how it had to - The first 2 weeks after little Louie passed away my sister Robin (his Mom) was strong and had a lot of faith knowing that his mission was really "to be here and help her to get her life back together" and that he really did that. She felt ok and kept telling all of us she would be fine if not that many of us could make it out there - so that was some of the reason we didn't cancel the family reunion and go - but still it was weird not being there. After a few weeks - now I think - she is struggling with it more, I think it just took a little while to actually hit her that he was gone. So she really is needing more support and prayers now I think more than ever.
So that was the tragic thing that happened that I had mentioned So so sad!! But I know she'll get to be with him and even have the chance to raise him some day.
Our Family reunion was just what our family needed I think Yellowstone is the perfect place for kids because they can actually see real live wild life that they have only talked about or seen in the zoo. We saw a moose, elk, deer, a couple Bears, pelicans, tons of Buffalo - or "Bluffalo" as Emily calls it! And some other wildlife too, it was so beautiful too! I am going to try and post pics and video's from it on my blog asap! My kids can not stop talking about it! They loved Yellowstone and Kate is always talking about how we're going again - like next week or something. The only problem is that we realized that our kids get car sick really easily! I bought Dramamine before we left just thinking that we may need it and we did! One thing about Yellowstone is that it's all pretty much driving the whole time! So after that first day of driving I was lacing my the girls Oreo's with Dramamine to get them to take it. I am sure they were confused as to why Mommy was giving them so many Oreos and not telling them NO more! But it worked so o-well.
Ever since August hit it's been non-stop with Usborne! Busy, but really good too! Primary has been pretty busy - well sort of. I am trying to plan the primary program - and I am SO not sure what to do and so far behind! I just feel like I have not had a seccond to stop, think and ponder on it. I need to get a day in here where I can sit and think and be inspired!
Anyway, so that is kind of the catch up story - not everything but I am sure it's enough to use as an excuse for not keeping up bette on my blog and keeping in better touch with you all, but it will have to do.
Also - I'm 19 weeks along and find out what I am having on Tues. the 19th. We're crossing our fingers for out door plumbing on the kid this time - but I am betting it's a girl and we are destined for all girls. It doesn't matter we'll love him/her with all our hearts anyway!
Oh, and before we left for Yellowstone I broke down and bought a new camera!! I am so glad I have one now, but still don’t have a clue what happened to my last one! ☺
